In August of 2021, we partnered with the Casper, WY Metro Animal Shelter. Many animals that are in the shelter can be overlooked when they are intact because that can be an expensive requirement that deters many future potential owners.
Over the span of two weeks our doctors donated their time and services to spay 3 dogs, neuter 12 cats and spay 16 cats. A doctor here chose the animals based off the likelihood that an alteration would increase their chances of adoption. He focused on older pets who would have a difficult time finding a home due to age and not being altered. Metro waved all adoption fees for every spayed and neutered animal during the month of August. We hope that our service project helped increase the chance of adoption for 31 animals and those we helped keep potential future animals out of the shelter.
